Today I was very pleased to go to the website, Picturing God, from Loyola Press and find a familiar photograph. Picturing God asks readers to send photos in, where God can be “seen.” This is a very Ignatian way of looking at things and makes perfect sense for a Jesuit ministry like Loyola!
I had sent in a photo of our magnolia tree. All the blooms were lost during the frost, so there were nothing but brown partial flowers, which you may have seen. In any case, some time later, a flower did bloom, amidst the dead brown ones. I thought it was a sign of God, a symbol of how persistent life is, how God comes through always. Even if everything looks dead, brown and hopeless. So I snapped a photo with my cell phone and sent it i. And they published it today! The post can be found here.
